Confession. Yes, I was that parent who waited until the last minute to pick up Valentine’s Day cards, when I knew a whole month prior about the Valentines Party my daughters preschool was going to have. Yes, I am the person who sends your kid home with a ton of holiday candy because I couldn’t think of anything to give them so last minute. However, this year I plan on changing my ill behavior, and I intend to bring you along with me to the glory of NOT being a last minute parent. In this post I am going to show you how to make DIY Heart Shaped Crayon Valentine’s Day Cards. I’ve also included a free Valentine’s Day Card printable, so that’s one last thing you have to worry about.
No longer do you have to wait until the last minute to throw something together, nor do you have to result to giving your kid and their friends more candy. Now you can have a non-edible option that they can use and will actually enjoy.
Tips to make the process easier
- Use an X-Acto Knife to cut the paper a slit in the paper surrounding each crayon. This will make it much easier to take the paper off.
- Before putting your hearts in the oven, place the silicon sheet on a cookie sheet. It can be a bit flimsy, so this will help to transfer it in a sturdier way.
Printable
If you don’t have Valentine’s Day Cards available, not to worry. HERE is a free printable so that you can print as many as you need. It’s perfect for a 2 inch heart.
You guys, this is such a fun craft to do with the kids. They will be so proud of their new creation. So put them to work. I suggest giving them the task of taking the paper off of the crayons, lol.
