I just have to start off by saying that this recipe gives me a nostalgic feeling of life when I was a kid. Eating a savory flavorful dinner that my Mom always seemed to just whip up right after school. That’s the vibe that I wanted you to feel when watching the video for The Best Tater Tot Cheeseburger Casserole.

I decided to come up with this recipe after seeing such a huge interest in my Tater Tot Breakfast Casserole. Honestly, I had no clue that so many people adored Tater Tots until I released that video. After many request, I decided to give you another Tater Tot dish that is just as easy to make, but much more appropriate for dinner.

In true Rosalynn Daniels fashion, this recipe takes minimal time to assemble and cook. For easiest clean up, I suggest sticking to one large cast iron skillet that can be used from start to finish. You will only need a saucepan and spoon in addition to the skillet, and possibly a spatula. So at most, you’ll only have 4-5 dishes to clean. Thank me later 🙂

What I love the most about this recipe is the fact that it seriously taste like a cheeseburger and fries. I did a lot of trial and error to come up with the best recipe and found that for the best homemade taste, it’s so important that you make the cheese sauce from scratch. I would typically encourage you to take one less step, but in the instance, I feel that taking the time to make the three ingredient cheese sauce is required so that your casserole doesn’t taste processed.

Tips for making this dish a success:

  1. Use a large skillet if possible
  2. Use fresh graded cheese for a better melt
