Benefits of Shrimp and Garlic

Shrimp and garlic aren’t just tasty; they’re also packed with nutrients that contribute to a balanced diet. Shrimp is a fantastic source of lean protein, which is essential for muscle growth and repair. It’s also rich in vitamins and minerals like B12, iodine, and selenium, which are crucial for maintaining thyroid function and overall health. Additionally, shrimp is low in calories, making it an excellent choice for those looking to maintain a healthy weight.

Garlic, on the other hand, has been revered for its medicinal properties for centuries. It contains allicin, a compound known for its anti-inflammatory and antioxidant effects. Garlic can help boost the immune system, lower blood pressure, and improve cholesterol levels. Combining these two powerhouse ingredients not only enhances the flavor of your dish but also contributes to your well-being.

What ingredients do you need to make Easy Garlic Shrimp Pasta

  • 1 lb shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 1 tbsp lemongrass paste
  • 1 tbsp garlic paste
  • 2 tbsp chopped basil
  • 2 tbsp chopped parsley
  • 1 cup heavy whipping cream
  • 1/2 cup white wine
  • 1/2 cup grated parmesan cheese
  • 8 oz cooked pasta (spaghetti, fettuccine, or your choice)

How to make Easy Garlic Shrimp Pasta

  1. Prep the Shrimp:

In a bowl, mix shrimp with a pinch of salt and pepper. Set aside to marinate while you prepare the other ingredients.

  1. Cook the Aromatics:

In a large skillet over medium heat, add the olive oil and butter. Once melted, stir in the lemongrass paste, garlic paste, chopped basil, and chopped parsley. Sauté for 2-3 minutes until fragrant.

  1. Cook the Shrimp:

Add the marinated shrimp to the skillet and cook for 2-3 minutes on each side until they turn pink and opaque. Remove the shrimp from the skillet and set aside.

  1. Make the Sauce:

Using the same skillet, add more butter if needed. Stir in the lemongrass paste and garlic paste, then pour in the heavy whipping cream and white wine. Continue to stir for 4-5 minutes until the sauce thickens slightly. Add the grated parmesan cheese and stir until melted.

  1. Combine and Serve:

Toss the cooked pasta and the shrimp into the skillet, ensuring everything is well-coated with the sauce. Garnish with more grated cheese and chopped parsley if desired. Serve hot and enjoy!
