It’s National Coffee Day, so I thought that it would be a great time to pay homage to a fruit (yes, coffee beans are the pit of cherries. Therefore, ultimately they are fruit) that so many people depend on to make it through each and every day! But, I wanted to take a less traditional approach because hey, we all know how to drink coffee, right? But, how often do you use coffee for things other than your favorite latte’? Today, I want to reintroduce my Easy 3 Ingredient DIY Coffee Scrub that can get you into exfoliation heaven immediately.
The first time I showed you this Coffee Scrub was with three other diy scrubs that I suggested making as a Mother’s Day gift. Check out the post here if you haven’t seen it yet. I explained to you the benefits of this awesome scrub, like exfoliation and the simplicity of making it, but I forgot to mention some of its other benefits so, I’m making up for that today!
Because this scrub is coffee based, it can totally help out with reducing cellulite. Reason being, is that coffee is synonymous with caffeine, and caffeine tightens the skin. If you apply this scrub often, it is said to be a reducer of the appearance of cellulite over time. We’ve all seen those magic creams that claim to get rid of cellulite but cost a ton. How about you take the items that you probably already have in your kitchen, and give this scrub a try before spending your money.
Another benefit of this DIY Coffee Scrub is that it is a natural moisturizer. It includes my favorite cooking ingredient, Olive Oil. Not only is olive oil a necessity in my kitchen, and I’m sure yours. But, olive oil is the perfect ingredient to use in your hair and on your skin. It has vitamins A, D, E, and K in it and also has an ingredient called squalene, which gives an antioxidant boost. Olive oil is also known for moisturizing and hydrating your skin.
I have learned over time that when using olive oil as a moisturizer, you should wet your hands or body part first, then apply the olive oil. This helps to lock in moisture.
So there you go folks! More information to add to your existing knowledge of coffee and this DIY Coffee Scrub. If you’re anything like me, you’ll want to make this immediately. I keep mine in a moisture resistant, air tight jar, right by my kitchen sink. I literally use this stuff every day, especially before I film a Done Video. If you decide to make a batch, don’t forget to use the hashtag #DoneVideo when posting.
