We’ve all had hummus right? Well, I’m here to tell you that this is not an ordinary hummus! As a matter of fact, this is probably the most indulgent hummus that I ever had and I am so glad to share this Lemon Garlic Hummus with Butter Poached Crab with you. This recipe is perfect for you to nosh on alone or share with others. I love making this lemony hummus when my guests arrive so that it can be fresh and a great way to spark conversations because not many people have had hummus with crab nor butter.
A few years back, I visited a restaurant in Denver, Colorado called Safta. They had the most delicious array of middle eastern dishes with what seemed like any type of hummus your heart desires. One dish that we had was a Crab Hummus that was out of this world. I literally thought about it non-stop once returning back to Georgia. So much so, that I caved and decided to try and make my own version at home. BEST DECISION EVER!!

How to make Lemon Garlic Hummus with Butter Poached Crab
Making any type of hummus is seriously so easy to do. I have a feeling that after you make this one, you’ll have a hard time ever buying hummus again. Also, the taste of homemade hummus is unbeatable.
- Step 1: In a large blender or food processor, blend your chickpeas, tahini, garlic, lemon juice, olive oil and seasonings. If it is not loose enough for you, then just add about a tablespoon of water and blend a little more until it is more to your liking.
- Step 2: Once you are done making your hummus, it is time to quickly poach your crab meat. All you have to do is melt your butter in a saucepan and bring to a soft boil. Once it starts to boil, add your lump crab meat to your saucepan and let boil for about 1 minute. Do not go past 2 minutes.
- Step 3: Plate your hummus so that it sinks down in the middle. Fill that hole with your crab meat.
- Step 4: Garnish with a little olive oil or butter and fresh parsley.

Sounds fab. What brand/make is that blender? Love the simplistic lol of it.
